Gabriela is a Brazilian born, NY based mixed media artist. Lately she has been focused on figurative painting and observational drawing. Her work has always been about the connectedness between her and the world she is surrounded, but during the pandemic, instead of looking outwards to find this connections, she looked inwards, what lead her to research and develop paintings based on her imaginary ancestry heritage.

Gabriela is an emerging artist and her accomplishments include being one of the 20 artists selected to participate in the NYFA Immigrant Mentoring Program. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally, including solo exhibitions and art residencies. She graduated in Communication Arts in 1994 in RJ, Brazil and has been living and working as a graphic designer and artist in NY since 1998.
